Currently we only have a few Gordon Hayward 10/11 rookies listed in the database. Part of that is by design, as Hayward does have the potential to be a fairly well collected player if he continues to play well in Utah, and it's easier to just upload firm prices instead of going back and changing them every month. Going into the shortened 11/12 NBA season, Gordon Hayward rookie cards were fairly well collected, although not near the values of John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and eventually Jeremy Lin. After getting off to a slow start this season, many collectors may have had doubts on if the collection was going to go up in value.
Patients Pays Off?
Over the last 6 weeks or so, Gordon Hayward has been playing some exceptional basketball. It seems collectors have taken notice, as many of his autograph rookie cards have bids on eBay at the moment. While the prices haven't gone through the roof (partly because the Utah Jazz haven't had the best season) that doesn't mean his card values won't continue to rise. Even going into the off-season, the talk around Utah will be how the team will be 'building around' Gordon Hayward going into next season.
At current prices, you can probably get a few of his rookies for less than $50, and that might not be the worst investment. The fans in Utah appreciate Hayward's game ... and he does have the potential to be a very solid player in the NBA.
